About Us

The Regional Magazine Company was established nearly 25 years ago by two Sheffield journalists, John Murphy and Martin Edwards.

Operating from a one room office and sharing a typewriter, we launched Westside as Sheffield’s first upmarket free magazine serving the affluent districts of the city.
A mix of high-quality editorial, design and informative local advertising ensured clients enjoyed unparalleled levels of response which generated further advertising revenue.
Further launches followed and the company now publishes nine monthly titles plus a range of specialist commissions. More recently, we launched a book publishing operation which has been responsible for producing books, for among others The Magpie Cafe in Whitby and Nutters restaurant in Rochdale. The company now employs over 30 people and has a turnover of over 2 million pounds.
