The UK office furniture market sector reports annual sales of just over £750million each year which indicates that millions of tonnes of unwanted office equipment reaches the end of its useful life each year, and much of it ends up in landfill tips.

It is difficult for companies to decide what to do when they choose to get rid of their old furniture and equipment. But one thing is certain – if they skip it or bring in removal firms for disposal they will be faced with hefty bills, swelled by landfill tax.
Burying things is not good for the environment. As well as being bulky, various chemicals are used in the manufacture of furniture.
